Through his renowned talk show, you may be familiar with Steve Harvey, an American comic and television presenter. It’s not uncommon for his name to surface in the newest news headlines, thanks to his larger-than-life charisma and fascinating appearance on the screen.

On the other hand, Harvey has increasingly piqued the interest of students and educators equally. We’ll look at the scholarships the well-known comedian and TV host offers.

About the Harvey Foundation

The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation has awarded over $700,000 in academic scholarships to university students throughout the last decade. Their scholarships have varied from book scholarships to full-semester grants of $15,000 each.

Under the Scholarship program, the foundation has awarded nearly 100 scholarships to eligible young people. As a result, young minds will be allowed to complete their academic pursuits.

They feel that by providing these scholarships, they can leave a legacy for future generations of families.

Let’s look at these Scholarships and discover their worth and how to apply.

Steve Harvey Grants for HBCU Students

Steve and Marjorie Harvey have joined the effort to narrow the wealth gap between Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Private Wealth Institutions (PWIs).

The couple’s foundation was introduced to billionaire Robert Smith, who is well known for agreeing to pay off student loans for Morehouse College grads, as the first step in this journey. The trio is working to extend Smith’s Student Freedom Initiative from nine to 29 partner colleges.

The group will support undergraduates at historically Black colleges and universities, among other objectives. This will be a means for Black students to avoid taking out expensive loans with exorbitant interest rates.

Participants will “pay it forward” towards the next generation of Student Freedom Initiative scholars rather than repaying their funds.

In addition, the program is expected to collaborate with Cisco and AVC Technologies/Computex to update technology infrastructure at several HBCUs. Finally, Smith’s InternX program will offer students extra job-hunting options and internship chances.

Scholarship Program for Minority Students

A $1,000 gift card will be given to the runners-up in this scholarship competition. Participation in the Steve Harvey Mentoring Program will be an element of the apprenticeship.

Working with his crew members and understanding everything it takes to manage the Steve Harvey Morning Show and Family Feud are all part of the plan. They’ll also have the chance to meet and learn from Steve Harvey.

Steve Harvey Scholarship for Kent University

The Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation, a philanthropic organization founded by Steve Harvey, has partnered with Kent State University and the Omega Psi Phi fraternity to award full four-year scholarship money to eight incoming Kent students.

If students keep a 2.5 (GPA) grade point average, the scholarships will pay four years’ Tuition. The scholarships are named after Devin Moore, a senior Kent State journalism student from Cleveland who unfortunately died while playing basketball at the school’s recreation center.

The charity has impacted the education system, demonstrating that giving and goodwill can alter kids’ lives, and it hopes that other celebrities will jump on board.

In complement to the scholarships, Harvey’s charity gave a $10,000 donation to Kent State’s Men Empowerment Network (MEN), affiliated with the school’s Student Medical Centre.
