Applications are rolling in for the 2024/2025 NITDA Blockchain Scholarship scheme.

The program aims to train at least 30,000 Nigerians on blockchain technology to develop career skills in emerging technologies. However, only eligible individuals will be allowed to apply.

About the 2024 NITDA Blockchain Scholarship

NITDA Blockchain Scholarship Scheme was launched by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in collaboration with Domineum Blockchain Solutions.

The scholarship program began in 2022 and was able to grant aid to over 20,000 individuals from different parts of Nigeria.

Kashifu Inuwa CCIE, the Director General/CEO of NITDA, said that the primary aim of the scholarship was to help speed up blockchain adoption in Nigeria, thereby making the country a global player in the blockchain industry.

Suppose you have begun a career in the blockchain industry or are interested in taking up one soon. In that case, you should take advantage of this opportunity and become an early solution provider in the fourth industrial revolution.

Domineum Blockchain Solutions is the implementing partner of the scheme, while the course content provider is BSV Blockchain Academy.

Domineum Blockchain Solutions also announced that the program would be delivered through a hybrid mode (physical and virtual meetups) in all states of the country. Therefore, interested candidates can apply from any part of Nigeria.

The scholarship program also promises outstanding teams in the project phase an opportunity to partake in an incubation program in London to further sharpen their skills in the industry.

Other beneficiaries will be exposed to the BSV Ecosystem, where they can participate in several blockchain projects.

Application Requirements

The minimum requirements to apply for the NITDA scholarship program are quite simple. The 2024 NITDA scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following admission criteria:

• Applicants must be Nigerian citizens and reside in any state of the federation.
• All applicants must be willing to put a minimum of 20 hours per week into the program.
• Applicants must have access to a laptop or desktop to access the program and attend classes.
• Also, applicants should have access to fast and reliable internet throughout the program.
• Applicants must show commitment and determination in learning and the tech industry.

Contrary to the opinion of many, no prior programming experience is required for application, and neither are applicants with the skill given preference over others.

Nevertheless, you can always apply for the program even if you already have prior programming skills or experience.

You will receive an email notifying you of a successful registration. Any other details you need to know about the scholarship will be emailed to you.

Application Timeline

Application for the NITDA Blockchain Scholarship program opens from 31st October to 28th November 2024. Interested individuals are advised to submit their applications before this date.

NITDA has no plans to extend the application deadline. Therefore, applications after the specified deadline will be considered invalid.

After the application, 30,000 applicants will be shortlisted to participate in the scholarship program. The course will begin on 1st December 2024, immediately after selection.
